Evangel University Partners
Assemblies of God Nigeria is mobilizing about 100,000 persons as partners to support the effort towards establishing a University before the year 2010. A partner is expected to support with sum of N10,000 per annum for five years. The Church is expected to raise the sum of N5 billion in the next few years. Already, the University Committee has set plans in motion for the realization of the vision. More than 10,000 persons have indicated their commitment to the project.
Operation 7575
The Church is about to experience an unprecedented revival in the baptism in the Holy Spirit. This was the focus of the just concluded National Pastors’ Conference held throughout the country recently. Under Operation 7575, the Church is expected to monitor a spiritual growth phenomenon that will make 3 out of every 4 persons or 75% of its membership baptized in the Holy Spirit by the 2009, when the Church will celebrate 75 years anniversary. The Director of Corporate Planning, Rev Uche Ama gave a detailed explanation of new plan to the leadership conference recently. The focus on the baptism of the Holy Spirit is more critical to the Church than ever, in faciing the challenges of the 21st century.
"Renewing Our Pentecostal Heritage"
This years Ministers' Conference, with the theme: "Renewing Our Pentecostal Heritage" has been zoned into four locations. All ministers serving in the eastern part of the country South East and parts of South-South – Rivers State, Bayelsa State, Cross River State and Akwa Ibom State will attend the 4th Zone in Evangel Camp. The Program however is expected to kick off at the Assemblies of God Youth Camp, Sagamu between 17th – 20th September, 2007. All ministers in Lagos State, and the entire western states and Edo and Delta States will be at this center. Others in the north will follow at Jos and Kaduna on 24-27 September and 8-11 October, 2007 respectively. Watch out for full news.
AG Leaders Honour Dr Sam Egwu
Dr Sam and Euince Egwu, former governor of Ebonyi State – an AG member and Ambassador of the Kingdom was honoured with the wife by the cream of the leadership of the Church on the 23rd June, 2007 at the Protea Hotel & Nike Lake Resort, Enugu. The General Superintendent, Rev Dr Charles Osueke led the Executive Committee members and other special invitees in giving the couple a luncheon to appreciate his meritorious service to the Church while in governance. Rev Osueke noted that Ambassador Sam Egwu was specially guiding his faith while in the leadership of the state and leaved an exemplary life. The leaders prayed for him for his future endeavours.
Abuja to host 2007 Leaders’ Retreat
The Annual Leaders’ Retreat of Nigeria Assemblies of God leadership comes up in Abuja between January 8-12, 2007. The Annual retreat prepares the leaders for the year’s ministry, as the General Superintendents shares his vision and the direction of the Church in the new year. The Executive Officers of the General Council with all District Superintendents, Area Supervisors and Chairmen, Directors and National Coordinators of Ministries and Departments, Heads of Institutions with their spouses will be in attendance. 2007 Leadership Conference
The National Leadership Conference 2007 will be held between February 12-16, 2007 at Evangel Camp, along KM48 Enugu – Abakaliki Expressway. The conference involves all General Council, District and Area Leadership – Superintendents, Supervisors, Chairmen, Directors, Coordinators, Sectional Leaders and District/Area Coordinators. Men organizes Economic Empowerment Seminars Nation-wide
Rev Azuka Obi, Head of the Men's Ministries Department announced that a Nation-wide campaign to assist the men to harness their economic potential will be the main focus of the activity of the department in 2007. 2006 Young Ministers' Forum.
The General Superintendent, Rev Dr Charles Ogbonnaya Osueke, will be hosting the annual Young Ministers' Forum for 2006. The Forum which comes up between 19th through 22nd December, 2006 at the International Conference Center – Evangel Camp, will feature among other things sessions of intercessory prayers, corporate fellowship, sharing and anointed messages challenging the emerging leaders towards 21st Century Ministry. Rev Osueke sees a great movement and army emerging from this great gathering. Special Holy Communion Service will be observed to cap up the fellowship. Corporate Ministries Concludes Leadership Seminar
The Officials of the Evangel Corporate Ministries, the Zonal Coordinators, Executive Secretaries, Prayer Secretaries and Partnership Coordinators of the Districts and Areas concluded their Annual Seminar between 5 - 7th September, 2006. At the seminar, various issues and papers were presented - among them were those of the Director, Rev Uche Ama. He spoke on Sustaining the Corporate Systems.
