21st Century Mega-plan to Empower the Church towards completing World Evangelization(A/G Nigeria-NEWS): Tuesday July 17, 2007
The National Church will on August 4th this year at the Presidential Hotel Enugu, Nigeria launch a national initiative to empower itself towards rapid completion of World Evangelization in the 21st Century. The strategy is the inauguration of the AG Business Men Forum. When formed shall engage in activities that will create enabling environment towards:
- propagating the gospel of Jesus Christ by all scriptural means
- encouraging and promoting the worship of God
- promoting fellowship among believers
- developing educational work in so far as seems necessary for the proper growth and efficiency of the church.
Essentially, the Forum will empower the Church to complete the task of world evangelization in the shortest possible time by the use of all the resources and talents with which God has endowed mankind. Similarly it will help members review, study, articulate, teach, disseminate, propagate, enhance and promote the application of Christian virtues and ethics in every profession, occupation, vocation, trade and all walks of life, which include honesty, probity, integrity, transparency, faithfulness and accountability as required of stewards of God’s gifts (1 Cor 4:2). In the business sector, it will advise members of the Forum on opportunities and problems arising from the pursuit of trade.
In pursuant to these objectives the AGBF will organize fellowships, conferences, seminars, workshops, lectures, research presentations, interactive sessions and meetings on subjects of current importance to members and to arrange regular gatherings of specialist groups with the aim of encouraging members to meet and discuss problems of mutual concern. Members will benefit from the various trade missions, it will organize and the provision of travel services.
Using its networks, it will to provide information and market intelligence services on business generally and investment in particular in the form of regular trade bulletin.
It will also maintain a close liaison with all relevant Government authorities, departments and representative bodies with the aim of protecting and/or representing members’ interests on matters of current importance.
It will combat all unethical and ungodly business practices and seek to promote, support the review of any legislative or other measures affecting the aforesaid aims and objectives.
