National Choir Competition

The National Choir Competition has been full of success stories.

Result Update:

The nine zones so far visited include:

  • Calabar − Ogoja, Ikom, Obubra, Calabar − Calabar District came first
  • Onitsha − Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi − Nenwi came first
  • Benin − Edo, Edo East, Esan, Afenmai − Edo came first
  • Uyo − Oron, Eket, Uyo, Ikot Ekpene, Ikono − Uyo came first
  • Umuahia − Aba, Ngwa, Ukwa, Umuahia, Aliudo − Aba came first
  • PH − Rivers, Ikwerre, E.Rivers, Ahoada, Eleme, Bayelsa, Bonny − Rivers won
  • Enugu − Nsukka, Afikpo, Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Ezzikwo, Enugu − Enugu won
  • Abuja − Abuja, Kogi and Niger − Abuja takes it all
  • Owerri − Owerri/Owerri East, Mbaise, Orlu, Okigwe, Okigwe East − Mbaise won

  • Kaduna − 16/5/09
  • Warri − 23/5/09
  • Makurdi − 30/5/09
  • Lagos − 6/6/09
  • Jos − 13/6/09

Zones that have not participated should contact me, if you have any questions. EC representative, the Director, Four Judges will be your guest. Dr Sam Egwu and wife may be coming to your zone, if you make early notification to the busy Hon. Minister.

National Grand Finale −

  • All Zonal champions who came first and representing their Districts or Areas or Zone should send us the list of those coming up to Abuja for accommodation booking or arrangements. They are not expected to exceed 100. Expenses of extra persons will be borne by them. The Planning Committee wish to receive this list before May 31st.
  • Arrangement for lodging and feeding is being borne by the committee, while the Districts arrange to provide transport to and fro for their contingents.
  • Arrival to Abuja is 16 July, 2009. Semi−finals 17 July, 2009 in which all others will contest and be eliminated to three or four. Final is 18th July, 2009 to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Departure − 19th July, 2009.
