75th Anniversary

The 75 Anniversary Celebrations will kick off at the various Districts and Areas on May 24, 2009. The National Celebration and Grand Finale will come up in Michael Okpara Square, ENUGU on 27th and 28th November.

Guidelines:

DISTRICT/AREA CELEBRATIONS −

  • Districts and Areas should print their own publicity materials or undertake their own TV/Radio announcements. It is important you contact Rev Friday Amirah of Delta District − Chairman for Publicity for Anniversary Jingles/Vests − GSM − 08037211760
  • The Anniversary Logo should be used on all publications and posters relating to the 75th Anniversary, including Letter heads and other official documents. Any publication or printing not bearing these logos will not be representing the Assemblies of God Nigeria in these matters.
  • The Anniversary Uniform is now on sale. Cost − N1,600. Please book and collect your allocations from the Chairman for Marketing − Rev Dr Chidi Okoroafor. The Uniform will be used both for the District/Area Celebration and the Grand Finale later in the year. GSM − 08077020202
  • Anniversary Service will be held in a location on that Sunday, May 24, 2009. The Service should be preceded by a rally in the District. No Church services is encouraged anywhere else other than that the Rally.
  • Simple accommodation is being provided for everyone. But those wishing to stay in hotels should please contact Dr Emma Iroegbu − Chairman for Logistics, for early hotel reservations. GSM − 08033168996

NATIONAL CELEBRATION −

  • The Grand Finale is at Okpara Square, Enugu. However, arrangements are on to request the Hon Minister of Sports to lift the ban on use of Stadium for the occasion. The Presidency, the National Assembly and the Judiciary are all being invited, including the State Governors, Ministers and other dignitaries. The US and Africa Assemblies of God Alliance member countries have been invited. Other denominations in Nigeria are also being invited. Please submit names and contact you wish to be invited.
  • There would be District by District Parade, award of 75 persons who are being remembered for their various contributions, lightening of the Anniversary torch, football competition finals and a lot of others.
